Founded in 1948, Speedway United Methodist Church's mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ through celebration, study and service. In the early years we worshipped in a variety of locations, from a union hall to a movie theater, until we built what is now known as the chapel in 1953. By 1960 we added our sanctuary. and in 2005 it was renovated to provide for contemporary forms of worship. Over the years we have served God and the community through our various ministries, such as our child care ministry and our special needs ministries. God continues to challenge and empower us to be faithful followers of Jesus Christ through our covenant of mutual support. |
